Hogwarts - A New Time
In the summer of 1999, two years after the defeat of Lord Voldemort by Harry Potter, the Ministry of Magic passed a new law stating that all Pureblooded witches or wizards must marry someone of halfblood or Muggle descent, hoping to reunite the Wizarding World. But they must do this before their 22nd year, or the Ministry would take away all magical rights they had, and ban them from using magic for the rest of their years. This was also true of the halfbloods and Muggleborn witchs or wizards, saying they must be "claimed" by a Pureblood before their 22nd year or the same punishment would be carried out.
In admist of all this, Ginny Weasley immediately chose her school-girl crush and on-again-off-again boyfriend, Harry Potter. Ronald Weasley, still confused about his feelings when it came to relationships, chose Lavender Brown, and later felt he'd made the right choice. Fred and George Weasley chose Katie Bell and Angelina Johnson. It turns out Percy Weasley had been with his teenage sweetheart, Penelope Clearwater, for quite some time and had claimed her as his bride, and their brother, Charlie Weasley, married a girl in Romania, excluding him from the law.
But what of Hermione Jane Granger? What of the girl who had given her heart to Ron, only to be broken hearted? For starters, her parents had been killed in what has become to be known as the Final Battle of 1997 by Death Eaters. She had been taken in by the Weasleys and treated like a second daughter and sister to the family. Now she was approaching her 22nd birthday, and she had yet to be claimed by any Pureblooded man. But she wouldn't let it bother her ... on the outside.
Draco Black Malfoy had turned on Voldemort and his Death Eaters, in the Final Battle and helped Harry Potter and the rest of the Order of the Phoenix finally defeat the madman who craved power and domination. He hadn't done it because "it was the right thing to do" or "because he was guilty for Dumbledore's death." No ... he'd done it for his mother ... and his father. His mother needed to be safe, she needed to be somewhere where he would know she wouldn't be hurt. And his father was currently in hiding, trying to avoid his master for fear of death. Draco convinced his father that helping the Order would be wise and would keep their family safe. As much as the two prideful Malfoys dispised it, they helped the Order trap Voldemort and let Harry Potter defeat him for the final time.
This excluded both he and his father from receiving a death sentence when the Ministry came back to power. For their aid in the final defeat of Lord Voldemort, they were both given a chance at normal lives again, with observation from the Ministry to make sure no dark magic would be coming from their bodies. Now Draco was nearing his 22nd birthday, and he had yet to find a bride worthy enough in his eyes. He needed ... intelligence, wit, and not to mention a nice rack. It seemed a cruel twist of fate that he walked into Flourish and Blotts that day only to see a much older, breathtaking Hermione Granger.
That night, after flirting with an uninterested Granger, he told his parents he'd chosen someone and they went to the Ministry immediately. After informing the Minister of Draco's peculiar choice, they brought Miss Granger down to the Ministry to meet with the future in-laws. After finding out, Hermione wept in shock, sorrow and self pity. Why had this happened to her? She had already thanked him nearly five years ago when he helped them defeat Voldemort, but why was he doing this? He'd already made her life hell in school, what more could he possibly do? Draco, claiming he was in this only for the sex, said he wasn't the same person before and torturing her like he had done at Hogwarts was far from his mind, leaving an unconvinced Hermione. After the two signed the marriage contract, the Minister announced that the wedding would be in four months.
As the months passed by, the inner fire that had once burned hate for each other in their hearts soon started to glow with something close to love, and as the wedding stalked closer, the future bride and groom could barely keep their hands off of each other. It surprised both of them that they could actually see the other in such a different light then they had in school. The four months that seperated them from their wedding had obstacles- Pansy trying to seduce Draco, their bachelor and bachelorette parties and Rita Skeeter's morning Prophet article with pictures from the night's events, and the sheer anxiousness that grew stronger as the days passed. But when Draco saw Hermione walk down the aisle, no doubt was in his mind that this was the way it was supposed to be. And for years, things seemed normal with the world.
But all wasn't. Behind the scenes and only known about between three people, a new dark power was rising. Those three were Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle and Blaise Zabini. They had been in with the Death Eaters and Voldemort during the Final Battle, but never given the Dark Mark, so they weren't given the death sentence. Voldemort had told the three young boys the night before he died that he had left two children on this Earth who didn't know who they were. They went by their mother's surname- Lestrange. Bellatrix Lestrange had said many times that if she had children, she would be the proudest mother on Earth to hand them over to Voldemort. When he had heard this, he left her a set of twins to become his heirs. But when the children where one, he died. The pregnancy and birth and very existance of the children had been kept a secret from everyone, even Bella's own sister, Narcissa Malfoy. But that still doesn't deny the fact that they are alive, and healthy, and noticing the strange feelings kept deep inside.
It is now 2019, and the children of Harry Potter's era are attending school. The Lestrange twins are now twenty-three, with their mother and step-father dead. But what is this strange calling that comes to them in the middle of the night? Who will tell them that they are not Lestrange, but Riddle? Only time will tell ... and so will a Mister Zabini who will stop at nothing until Voldemort's reign is completed with the two young adults.
